Hello World!

Wes Fischer Harughty our newest addition of the family came a little early at 38 weeks 4 days.  Perfectly healthy.  I started having contractions on September 4th, and they got stronger through the night so we started timing them... The doctor told us to follow the 4-1-1 rule which is if they are 4- minutes apart for 1- minute each for 1- hour that we should go to the hospital.  So, we did that for an hour, I was definetly having them so we waited again a second hour, packed our bags and checked again in the third hour... Ok, ok, i guess we should go.  So, all three of us loaded up in the car at 2 am, Hank popped up wide eyed and bushy tailed in hopes that he was going to meet his little brother soon.  We told him that we were just going to go and talk to the doctor about him, that we may not get to have him come out of Mommy's tummy just yet, but we were going to check and see.  When we got there they hooked me up to the monitor, I was definetly having contractions, and then they spaced out, then they got stronger, then they spaced out... and the nurse said we would call the doctor at 7, so she did and he said we are having a c-section at 11am.  We were kind of shocked, but thank goodness we did because he was 7 lbs and 13 oz.  I was scheduled to have him the following Monday on the 10th, but 5 more days would have been an even bigger baby, Lord help me, haha! Wes was born absolutely perfect at 11:50, he cried louder than his brother ever has within the first 2 minutes of his life.  He actually came out peeing, he peed again as they cleaned him up and weighed him, and after his bath.  He was a little tinkle monster! Wes was a little janudice so we stayed until Saturday morning when they thought his billirubin levels had gone down.  Hank was sooooo proud of his baby brother.  He is the best helper and we are just crazy about this bond that they already share.  It's too sweet for words.
