Daddy Cam at Doctor's Appointment

Derric did a little Daddy Cam Action at our first doctor's appointment to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was really neat, I was so worried when they first were chasing it though, anytime we could start to hear the baby would move, now this better not happen on JULY 6th when we go to see the gender!

I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful. Psalm 139:13-14

You put the LIME in the Coconut!

This is the weekly update we get of the baby's growth and development, it is so cool to know what is developing each week. So cool.

How your baby's growing:
The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

My First Little Mother's Day Celebration

Well, Derric really wanted to celebrate Mother's Day this year since I am carrying child and all. It was really sweet I woke up to a beautiful bouquet of flowers and went to church. We ate lunch his family and then came home for a long nap! He woke me up again with a special little ring and card, the ring was his birthstone (it is the new stackable rings from James Avery)! For my birthday he said I will get my birthstone and when the baby comes I will get their birthstone. It is such a sweet gift. I love him... he is so good to me. Later in the day we went to the pool and hot tub(don't worry I didnt' let it get too hot)!

The day before my mother, grandmother I met in College Station for a little lunch, shopping, pedicure, and movie!

The Gender Test

So maybe I am a little off my rocker, but I think most mothers to be can't stop thinking about what the sex of the baby might be. From the beginning that we found out I thought how fun it would be to have a boy first and then a little sister after. Well..... then I found these tests online (thanks alot Beth), from the chinese gender test, to the ebay lady (yes 3.00 reader on ebay), the wedding ring on a string test and all those little survery/questionarre tests.... all said GIRL! So.... I had my friend come over and take the DRAINO test with me. This test is very dangerous you are suppossed to pour 3oz of draino crystals into 3 oz of urine outside and it smokes and chemically reacts. blue is girl and little reaction boy is brown and lots of smoke. So Beth came over and we had totally opposite reactions. hers said boy and she is having a boy says her doctor.... and mine little reaction here are the pics!

Getting ready to pour the tinkle in....

Beth pouring hers in (this was a bad idea she puked from the fumes within 3 minutes in our yard)! The boys should have poured for us!

Me pouring mine in and waiting....

Mine didn't change a whole lot!

Beth's came bubbling to the top and then melted her cup to the concrete!! This is supossed to be in glass jars but ewww!

The day before Beth found out what the baby was we did it again for reassurance and mine turned like hers soo... I read more and more about it and I was suppossed to wait til month 4! But... what's a little fun I can still think pink! Haha!

A Crafty Little Mama

So..... I have been very busy learning to make a ton of baby things, I have found online and wanted to make a little different. I have always wanted to learn how to sew but being the wild child I am, my mom said I would have to learn on my own. Until...... she heard the word grandchild! Now she is ready to teach, we have had a lot of fun every chance we get makign little dresses, burp cloths, diaper wipe covers, pacifier holders, and even a bow holder. This is seriously so much fun! Here are a few things we have been working on. I still have no idea the sex of my baby, but want to learn all of this just in case. I have tried to make a couple boy things but have already gifted them for showers before grabbing a good picture. Boys are defeinelty in the water right now!

The first thing we ever made was inspired by the cora dress that was in another post of mine. The story was about a little girl who died from cancer and her family made dresses to sell on Etsy to build a playground in her honor. I loved the Cora dress so we put our own spin on it by applying a precious little ruffled flower/brooch for a little touch of sass! That night we also made a little boys onesie with an appliqued PEACE sign on it in brown polks dots, and a diaper wipe case in chocolate damask (but I gifted them for a shower before getting a good picture).

On that same night I made this applique burp cloth as well and loved the fabric so much, last night I decided to make the pacifier holder to match. This would also be really cute with a monogrammed button in center.

This little dress was inspired by an blog tutorial by Joy's Hope (check out the blogs I follow on my page). It was a quick and easy little dress. The directions made it out of bandana but I found this precious paisley material at Walmart and couldn't help but get it! Soooo cute. I threw together a diaper wipe cover to match. I have so much fabric let I will have to make a messy flower bow or burp cloth to match!

I had so much fun making these little pacifier holders. Thanks to my friend Trista for having just the right little clips at work I took a few and added buttons, ribbon, velcro and a little sewing to make these cute pacifier holders come to life! I just love the gerber daisy one with the rhinestone. No one thinks I am might be thinking PINK do they?? No....

This little bow holder actually was suppossed to be a pacifier holder but the flower/brooch was a little too big so I thought what the heck all little girls need a bow holder. If I have a girl we are going to need at least five of these! Haha!

Little Playmates

We had a little visitor come to stay with us for a week while trying to hide him from his soon to be owner. Meghan Hayter and I planned a little suprise for Logan her husband by have me and Derric pick him up while we were out out of town. We brought him home to play with our boys for a week while waiting for Easter Day. When Logan finally got his gift he was so excited to meet his precious Miniture Schnuazer (aka a little Levi) on Easter, they named him Remmy.

Our dogs Levi and Pico thought he was really cute. Levi being a native Schanuzer thought that was his puppy and was very very protective. Here are a few shots of Remmy and the boys!

Pico looks like a Monster compared to this little guy!

Drum Roll Please.......

Give it up for Penny Lane Designs for my precious new Blog makeover. She incorporated everything I wanted so cute, I just need to learn how to work it now!

Okay also, we went to the doctor and got our second ultrasound! It was sooo amazing to see the hand and feet and the baby was wiggling around so much. It was so neat! The heartbeat was racing so fast it was truly amazing to watch we coudl have stayed there for hours in aww!

We have a couple of names we have been working on.... Hudson Hank or Hayden Von Harughty for a boy (Von after Derric's middle name)! And Hudson Grace or Charli Jo Harughty for a girl. I personally love Hudson for both boy or girl. Me and my 2 other sisters all have boyish nicknames hence the gender nuetral name for a girl , it is very sassy I think. It is such hard work to pick out a name, I never thought it woudl be so serious of a deal!
